What is C-4 Visa?

- Short-term Employment Visa (C-4) for people who plan to stay for 90 days or less with the intention of profiting from commercials, fashion modeling, lectures, research, the instruction of new technology, etc. 

Required Items for C-4 Visa

1. Completed visa application form
2. 2 recent passport-type color photo
(3.5 X 4.5 cm, The photo must have been taken in the last 6 months and should have a white background. Photos which are printed out or which do not meet these specifications will not be accepted)
3. Original and 2 copies of passport
(Seriously damaged or worn passport will not be accepted and must remain valid for at least 6 months)
4. Flight itinerary issued by a travel agency or an airline.
(Applicants are advised not to purchase their tickets until their visas are approved)
5. Original university degree and 2 copies of university degree
(*Please be advised that ONLY a 4-year university degree can be verified by the Korean Consulate – not unaccredited schools, diploma, TESOL certificates)
(*Applicants with a degree from a university outside of Canada must submit a copy of their degree notarized by a notary public or a lawyer)
6. Sealed university transcript
7. Police Certificate or Criminal Record Check Confirmation
(Must submit a Police Certificate [including “Vulnerable Sector Screening”] or Criminal Record Check [including “Vulnerable Sector Screening”] issued within the last 6 months only by RCMP or Municipal Police in BC, AB, SK, Yukon, NT.)
8. Cdn $33.00 visa fee (Cash Only, it will be reimbursed on top of salary)

 What is E-2 Visa?

Long-term Visa to teach a Foreign Language (E-2) for People who wish to teach foreign languages at language institutes, primary schools or higher, or other educational facilities.
The applicant must be a native speaker who has attended an English-speaking university/college and obtained a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree. A degree from a French-speaking university is not a sufficient qualification to teach English.

Required Documents for E-2 Visa (to get Visa Issuance Number)

- Employer applies at Korean Immigration Service in Korea

1. Passport(A photocopy of passport if applying for a certificate of recognition of Visa Issuance)  
2. Employment contracts
3. Self-health statements
4. A certificate of degree (Applicants may choose one of the following)
 - Original copy of the diploma (will be returned to the applicant after making a copy and
          having it sealed as a legitimate copy)
 - Copy of the diploma (verified by the Korean consulate or attached with documents verifying
          highest education, issued by ‘Korean Council for University Education’)
 - Certificate of academic degree issued by the relevant university. (Affixed with an apostille or
          attached with documents verifying highest education, issued by domestic verification agency)
 - Certificate of graduation that lists acquisition of diploma (Affixed with apostille or attached
          with documents verifying highest education, issued by domestic verification agency)
5. Issuance of proof of (lack of) criminal records
 ※ The records must be affixed with the relevant nation’s Apostille
 ※ Those who are Canadian citizens must submit criminal background check including 
     "Vulnerable Sector Screening" for the application of confirmation of visa issuance.
 ※ Immigration office will not recognize the criminal records issued by online website 
    or E-mail notarized by consulate's office in Korea as a valid criminal records.

8. 5 color photos of the applicant are needed when applying for the certificate of recognition of visa issuance
    size : 3.5cm x 4.5cm
    Photos must have been taken within the past 6 months.
    Printed photographs are not accepted
    Bright background is preferred over a dark one.

Required Items for E-2 Visa (after Visa Issuance Number received)

- Apply at local Korean consulate or embassy
1. Completed visa application form
2. One recent passport-type color photo
3. Original and a photocopy of passport(remaining validity of at least 6 months)
4. CD $55.00 visa fee
5. Additional items required for this type of visa:
       A. For individuals with visa issuance confirmation numbers:
                  i) Visa issuance confirmation number
                     (clearly stated on the bottom of the visa application form)
                  ii) Sealed university transcript (required for verification purposes)

Note: New Policy (Effective as of Dec.15.2007)
An applicant must have an interview at the Korean Consulate.
First-time applicants must apply for visas at a Korean Embassy or Consulate in their own countries.
However, any applicant who worked previously with an E1, E2, E3 visa in Korea without any illegal activities is exempt from an interview and can apply for an E2 visa in a third country.
